Maryam Bassir, Psy.D.
Maryam Bassir holds a MS and PsyD in Clinical Psychology
from Pacific University, and is a licensed psychologist in the state of
Alaska. Current professional interests include multicultural assessment,
suicide prevention, learning disorders, behavioral and emotional
disorders, AD/HD, and FASD. Since 2005, she has worked as an Itinerant
Specialist for the Bering Strait School District providing assessment
and consultation in the district’s 15 Alaska native villages of the
Norton Sound region. Maryam grew up on a farm in rural Oregon and is of
Iranian and European-American heritage. Her passion is public service
with diverse groups. Prior to completing graduate school, she worked for
the Intercultural Psychiatric Program of Oregon Health Sciences
University, and served on a number of steering committees for developing
cultural and immigrant organizations. Her pre-doctoral internship was
completed at the Federal Medical Center in Devens, MA.
