Listserv
A mailing list, sometimes called an email
group, discussion list
or listserv, is an automated way to send email to a group of
people. When someone wants to send mail to everyone in the
group, the message is sent to a list address.
An automated program automatically copies the incoming message and
sends it to the email address of each person in the group, also
called the List.
Mailing lists give you access to open discussions with dozens,
hundreds, or even thousands of people on all kinds of topics,
using only email. |
AK-PA maintains
two email discussion lists or groups:
AK-PA List. AK-PA members will be asked if they wish to participate
in the AK-PA list on joining or renewing. Participation is strongly
encouraged as news and information is distributed on the list very
quickly. This is particularly important when critical events occur
that require rapid response from the membership. The list is also an
excellent means for communication with the AK-PA leadership.
Subscribers can post messages to this list using
ak-pa@lists.apapractice.org.
AKPA-MH List. All professionals working in the field of mental health
in Alaska are invited to join the AKPA-MH list. AK-PA membership is
not required. The AKPA-MH list is
an excellent means for sharing resources, disseminating information, and
professional networking in general. It is also serving to unite
practitioners with different training and licensure. Subscribers can post messages to this
list using akpa-mh@googlegroups.com
You can subscribe, unsubscribe, and manage your
subscription to these lists using the information presented here:
TO SUBSCRIBE: Use
the email address below for the selected list. For the AK-PA list,
indicate that you are an AK-PA member. This will qualify you for
subscription to the AKPA-MH list as well. For the AKPA-MH list
alone, please indicate your affiliation and location with contact
information for verification as an Alaska mental health professional.
If you have more than one email address, send the message from the address
with which you wish to be subscribed. Finally, indicate how you wish
your name to read on posts to the list. Your
full and real name is required (e.g., Jane P. Doe).
Subscribed names do not contain credentials, however, you can include your
credentials, affiliation, etc., in your signature when posting messages if
you like.
Thank you for your interest. We look forward to adding you to our
