Joel Wieman- APA Council Representative

Dr Joel Wieman was elected to serve as AK-PA’s APA Council Representative in spring of 2022 and began his term January 2021.

He served seven years as Council Rep from approximately 2000 through 2007 and decided to serve again when he began to cut back on his private practice to be able to devote to non-practice related professional activities.

He had served as board secretary and also board president when the association went by the acronym ALPA

He recently completed two three-year terms on the psychology licensing board, and after a two-year break from non-practice related professional activities he began thinking about becoming more active in AK-PA when nominations for the Counsel Rep position was announced.

“I enjoyed my service on the counsel before and would enjoy doing so again” said Dr Wieman.
